money talks

so, despite all the drama in our lives lately i gotta say that i’m feeling pretty good about things. jenn and i have been getting along alot better lately, with the occasional spats about money (who figured that?!?). the fact is that both jenn and i aren’t good with money, and thats a bad combination. so, we’re taking a new approach with a new budget and a new plan. how its possible we still live paycheck to paycheck after all these years is hard to believe, but such is life. i personally would like to have a little savings account – in the event we’d ever need it. but every time i manage to squirrel away a couple hundred bux, something inevitably comes up.

such is life, i suppose. i may load up quicken or ms money again and attempt to track our expenses in order to devise a sound budget. anyone have some tips to offer, we’re all ears.

a few options i’ve already considered:

1. buying a 10 year supply of qtips in advance so our ears are clean for a decade

2. clothing cameron in old hand-me-down metallica t-shirts and pants made out of duct tape

3. selling amway on the side

4. go down to pike place market and play the guitar for money. i only remember one cover song, so it’ll be stairway to heaven for hours…

5. donate blood for cash

6. cancel our insurance – we’re not using it at the moment…

7. vote for bush – another war for profit and american casualties will be bound to open up more jobs in the market…

8. eat macaroni twice a day

9. sell our cars and buy a big white van to double as shuttle express to and from the airport in my spare time…

10. quit funnelling funds to nigerian bankers…
